There are numerous myths and stories in Christianity. The Gospel tells the story of Jesus', birth, life, death and resurrection. These stories of Jesus are central in christian faith. Some Christians take jesus' and his parables literally, and other try to look past the details of the story and rather focus on the meaning. The stories that Jesus told have important relevance to Jesus Christ, God and God's relationship with his people.
The birth of Jesus from the Virgin Mary is an example of a text in which some people take literally, when in actual fact this would be impossible. In this instance many Christians believe in looking past the details of this story and focusing on the meaning through their own interpretation.
